This solo band was formed under the name ROOTS which was founded by a musician named Bayu Roots in 2009, again showing its fangs of existence by launching its latest mini album and single entitled "Pe-Ka (Pembunuh Karakter)" on June 16, 2022.

Previously this ROOTS had leaked a song entitled "Killing Me", "Suara Alam" and "Nosey" on social media. But these songs are only part of a promotion with unfinished recordings.

Creating material that is full of experimentation and exploration certainly takes a long time compared to the beginning of the album and previous ROOTS materials such as Faith, Movin, Rebelution in 2010, the single Manusia Beringas in 2016 and the album Rising Sun with its flagship single, Rising Sun, Malaikat Kematian in 2018.

E.P (mini album) consisting of 4 new ROOTS songs featuring musical compositions that are not only elegant but of high quality. Combining Latin percussion and Serunai's voice typical of Minangkabau-West Sumatra in some of his repertoire compositions. Still with the vocal style that combines metal and reggae, there are growls, screams, ragga and choruses that can "sing along" with low-tuned guitar riffs, distortion, standard A tuning and tempo beats in the style of Nu-Metal.

The composition process for the new ROOTS mini album is all done and produced by Bayu Roots and recorded at the Tonbetter Studio Lab by sound engineer Rsharsh Leonard in the city of Bogor, West Java.

Pe-Ka (Pembunuh Karakter) can now be heard in full through various digital music services including Spotify, Joxx, YouTube Roots Official, bandcamp, Deezer and so on. This mini album will also be available in compact disc format released by Marawa Records and will be available at the end of August 2022 in limited quantities.
