1921 Baliheadbanger Online Radio Releases Tribute Single "19-21 Bali Corpsegrinder Selamanya Jaya"
In a momentous occasion on May 12, 2024, 1921 Baliheadbanger Online Radio unveiled a special single dedicated to Bali's oldest underground Metal community. Titled "1921 Bali Corpsegrinder Selamanya Jaya" this short single pays homage to the enduring legacy of the 19-21 Bali Corpsegrinder community.
The roots of the 19-21 Bali Corpsegrinder community trace back to the establishment of a program on an AM radio station in Bali known as Radio Yudha, which aired Metal music, particularly Thrash Metal, Death Metal, and Grindcore, in 1988. This initiative led to the formation of a platform for Metal music enthusiasts, bearing the name 19-21 BALI CORPSEGRINDER.
Named after the time slot of the program hosted by Death Jockey (DJ) Agus Yankky, the community provided a space for Metal lovers to exchange ideas, experiences, and cassette tapes. Officially inaugurated in 1990, the 19-21 Bali Corpsegrinder community became not only a gathering place but also a hub for Bali's Metal bands of the time, including Sparatis, Epelipsi, Elnino, Madness, Debtor, Triple Six, Misty, and Yankky Rose.
Similar to other music communities, the 19-21 Bali Corpsegrinder community was well-organized, with structured programs, regular meetings, and membership cards. Despite fading over time, the spirit of the 19-21 Bali Corpsegrinder community lives on among musicians and Metal enthusiasts in Bali. This spirit is further embodied through the formation of a social-focused music community by former members, known as KMBUK or Bali Music Community for Humanity.
Now, with the release of "1921 Bali Corpsegrinder," 1921 Baliheadbanger Online Radio commemorates the enduring influence and significance of the 19-21 Bali Corpsegrinder community in Bali's Metal scene.
