#BreakingNews : MAKMUR Completes New Protest Anthem "Sistem Yang Salah"

Indonesian Hardcore Punk band MAKMUR has just completed their latest single, "Sistem Yang Salah," on April 23, 2025.

This powerful track voices the band's disapproval as civilians against government actions, aligning themselves with students and demonstrators who oppose legislative drafts that do not represent the people's interests. In "Sistem Yang Salah," MAKMUR boldly rejects the government's proposed revisions to the military bill (Rancangan Undang-Undang TNI), which they believe neglect the rights and welfare of ordinary citizens.

This release follows their first single, "Genosida," which debuted on October 6, 2024. "Genosida" is a fierce dedication to fellow musicians and all those continuing the fight for Palestinian freedom. With sharp, politically charged lyrics, a dynamic musical arrangement, and a signature aggressive vocal delivery, the track made a strong impact on listeners. Their combination of anthemic hardcore energy and striking spoken-word segments set them apart in the scene.

About MAKMUR:

Founded in 2022 by Falah in Jakarta, MAKMUR initially started as a Punk Rock band. After a lineup change in mid-2024 — with the departure of bassist Bocor and drummer Dino (as well as former drummer Asep) — Falah revitalized the band by recruiting Kodoxx (guitarist of Contraflow Hardcore) on vocals, Mico (bassist of Hemat Energi Hardcore) on bass, Aries (drummer of Blangsuck) on drums, and Oky Ahmad (guitarist of The Jakarta Waterfall) on guitar. Following discussions among members, MAKMUR decided to shift their style towards a more aggressive Hardcore Punk sound.

With this new formation, MAKMUR has already performed at several punk and music events, solidifying their position as a fresh, powerful voice in Indonesia's hardcore scene.

Stay tuned for the release of "Sistem Yang Salah" — an anthem of resistance from the streets of Jakarta.
