Malang, June 26, 2025 — Alternative rock outfit DJANUS WAVES from Malang returns with a bold new single titled "Stelan Formal", set to hit digital platforms on June 27, 2025. The track marks the beginning of what the band calls their “Second Half” phase — a new chapter both musically and thematically.
Following their 2023 debut EP “Terkapar di Lantai Dansa”, known for its gritty, youthful fuzz-rock sound, the band now enters a more reflective and mature territory. “Stelan Formal” dives deep into themes of personal growth, social pressure, and the emotional struggles of individuals navigating work, love, education, and unfulfilled dreams in today’s fast-paced world.
Addressing the emotional toll of mass layoffs in Indonesia, the song serves as an anthem for the unheard, resonating especially with those who feel forced to appear strong under societal expectations. It challenges the narrative that “men don’t open up,” while also embracing all individuals who feel voiceless and unseen.
“We wanted this song to reflect how far we've come as a band,” says bassist and co-lyricist Caca. “It’s about evolving — musically and personally.”
Vocalist Algi (aka Gepeng) adds, “We hope listeners find emotional connection in this track — whether as comfort, catharsis, or a reminder to keep dreaming.”
“Stelan Formal” is also a bridge leading to DJANUS WAVES’ upcoming mini album titled “Paruh Kedua”, solidifying this phase as a fundamental transformation for the band — one rooted in self-awareness, growth, and resilience.
