#BreakingNews : ELYRA Releases the Single and Music Video for “Married with the Devil” Ahead of Their Debut EP
BRUSQUE-SC, Brazil – Brazilian Heavy Metal act ELYRA has officially unveiled their long-awaited debut single and music video, “Married with the Devil”, marking the beginning of a new era that intertwines symphonic, gothic, and modern metal influences.
With a deeply emotional artistic purpose, ELYRA seeks to be both a comforting presence and an outlet for those struggling with their own battles and inner demons.
“Married with the Devil” exposes the painful truth of an abusive relationship — a story that begins as a fairytale but gradually descends into darkness. The “devil” serves as a powerful metaphor for an aggressive, manipulative man who conceals his true nature until the deception becomes unbearable. The lyrical persona eventually awakens, confronts the reality, and transforms her pain into strength — a powerful message of courage, liberation, and resilience.
“I’m excited and anxious about this release. I hope to reach as many people as possible, especially women who may relate to the song’s message and find in it motivation to resist and fight,”
says vocalist Kathy Maurici.
Formed in 2024 in Brusque-SC, Brazil, ELYRA evolved from an Evanescence tribute band into an original project, transforming admiration for their influences into an authentic artistic vision. The band’s mission is to use music as a tool for emotional connection and empowerment, exploring themes of pain, strength, and healing through melody and intensity.
Musically, ELYRA draws inspiration from Evanescence, Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, Jinjer, and In This Moment, creating a sound that balances heaviness with emotion — appealing to fans across multiple metal subgenres.
The group’s lineup includes Kathy Maurici (vocals), Beto Barth (drums), Julio Garcez (guitar), and Edu Martineghi (bass). For their debut EP, scheduled for 2025, they collaborated with guitarist Thiago Correia.
“Married with the Devil” was written by Catherine Maurici, Thiago Correia, and Roberto Batista Barth, produced, mixed, and mastered by Demis Assis Kohler. The cover artwork features photography by Rafael Klein and design by Kathy Maurici. The official music video — directed by Kathy Maurici, filmed by Diego Silva and Kethilyn Silva, with editing by Diego Silva — visually captures the emotional intensity and catharsis behind the song’s message.
