SKJONNHET proudly unveils its new single “Sailing Into the Drowning Horizon” featuring Bjørnar (ULVHEDNER) on 29 November 2025—a dramatic continuation of the tale first introduced in the debut album “Wanderer Above the Woods of Fog.” This intense release marks the beginning of a new artistic chapter and serves as the very first glimpse into Skjønnhet’s forthcoming second album.

“Sailing Into the Drowning Horizon” narrates the struggle of a human who chooses the path of an environmental activist—someone who refuses to bow to the destructive forces disrupting the balance of the natural world. The song explores the emotional and physical turbulence of defending the wild while facing the looming threat of powerful elites who view his resistance as a danger to their ambitions.

At its core, the single presents a powerful storytelling journey:
A lone wanderer sets sail into a fate filled with trials that test the limits of his courage. His mission to protect nature becomes a heavy burden, placing his life—and even the safety of his family—at risk. Yet despite violent waves, jagged stones, and endless obstacles, he realizes that these hardships are only the beginning. For an activist, sacrifice is not merely a choice—it is a calling.

With its haunting atmosphere, evocative soundscape, and gripping emotional depth, the track captures both the beauty and brutality of resisting destruction in a world on the brink of swallowing hope whole.

This release holds special significance for Skjønnhet, as it features Bjørnar, vocalist of the long-running Norwegian black metal band ULVHEDNER, active since 1993. His presence adds a raw emotional layer, merging the spirit of classic Nordic black metal with the fierce identity of Nusantara Black Metal.

ABOUT THE BAND

SKJONNHET, a one-man project from Indonesia formed by Donny Andrean in 2022, has earned recognition for its nature-themed black metal infused with deep messages of environmental awareness. The project encourages listeners to reflect on humanity’s relationship with nature and the consequences of environmental exploitation.
