#BreakingNews : ANANG Unleash “Memoria”: A Crushing Debut That Redefines Brazil’s Extreme Progressive Metal Scene
Brazilian metal newcomers ANANG have officially unleashed their debut EP “Memoria” on March 27, marking a powerful milestone in the band’s early journey and signaling a bold new chapter in their artistic evolution.
Serving as the culmination of their previously released singles “Solitude” and “Bleak,” “Memoria” stands as a deeply immersive and cathartic body of work. The EP reflects a thematic embrace of the past as a foundation for forging new paths—without compromising the band’s core identity. With this release, Anang positions itself as a rising force within the progressive and extreme metal landscape.
Blending elements of progressive death metal, post-metal, and experimental textures, “Memoria” delivers a sound that is both grand and emotionally charged. Tracks like “Within Silence” and “Redemption” highlight the band’s ability to balance crushing heaviness with atmospheric sensitivity, channeling influences from bands such as Gojira and Sepultura while crafting a distinct and forward-thinking sonic identity.
Formed in 2025 in São Paulo, Brazil, Anang quickly gained attention for their unconventional and intense approach to music. Their sound—driven by dense guitar work, dark keyboard layers, and expressive vocals—creates a dynamic tension between anguish and beauty, offering listeners a deeply engaging experience.
The band features Thiago “Tigas” Pereira (vocals), Ivan Landgraf and Felipe Abbamonte (guitars), Renato Castro (bass), and Lucas Prado (drums). The EP was self-produced, with mixing and mastering handled by Rogério Wecko at Dual Noise Studios, while the cover artwork was crafted by Luis Queiroz.
With “Memoria,” Anang firmly establishes its presence as one of the most intriguing new acts to emerge from Brazil’s metal underground.
