#BreakingNews : SOMNIUMSAIC Drops “Aksa Daksa” Amid Sell-Out Debate After Label Signing

Indonesian act Somniumsaic kicks off 2026 with the release of their latest single, “Aksa Daksa,” marking their first original track in Bahasa Indonesia—and their second preview of an upcoming sophomore album.

The release arrives shortly after the band’s signing to FireFly Records, sparking discussion among fans who view the song’s more minimal, emotionally driven approach as a potential shift—or even a “sell-out.” However, the band clarifies that the simplified arrangement is a deliberate artistic choice, designed to amplify the song’s lyrical weight and somber atmosphere.

Built around the theme of mortality, “Aksa Daksa” draws inspiration from the phenomenon of Terminal Lucidity, famously dramatized in the long-running TV series Grey's Anatomy. The concept captures fleeting moments of clarity before death, shaping the song’s emotional core—summed up in the poignant line: “People go, memories stay.”

The track aims to resonate as a comforting embrace for listeners coping with loss, emphasizing that every sincere moment carries eternal meaning.

Accompanying the release is a conceptual music video featuring vocalist Alex in a slow-motion lip-sync performance, filmed at Sukun Cemetery. The visual narrative reflects the song’s philosophical depth—exploring the separation of body and soul, and the liminal space between existence and absence.

The title itself holds layered meaning: “Aksa” (distance) and “Daksa” (body), forming a metaphor for a soul that has drifted far from its physical form—lost, directionless, and suspended between worlds.

“Aksa Daksa” officially lands on all major streaming platforms on January 23, 2026.
